Academic stress is the product of a combination of academic related demands that exceed the adaptive resources available to an individual. If a student is unable to cope effectively with academic stress, then serious psycho-social- emotional health consequences may result (Arthur, 1998; MacGeorge, Samter, & Gillikan, 2005; Tennant, 2002). The current study examined relation in academic stress in relation to self-efficacy and mindfulness among senior secondary school students. The findings indicated that there was significant negative relation in academic stress, self-efficacy andmindfulness among boys and girls. Keywords

Alcohol abuse has been associated with diverse indicators of social malaise and disruption. Thousands of people die each year from medical complications of alcoholism such as, cirrhosis of the liver, heart disease and other medical conditions. Many pedestrian and driver fatalities on the roads are associated with excessive drinking. A significant number of murders and suicides are associated with alcoholism (Gangrade & Gupta, 1981). About one third of A mission to psychiatric unit in general hospitals represent alcoholism and drug abuse and substantial numbers of alcoholics ,are seen in psychiatric outpatient clinics. The problems are, therefore, enormous and only in recent years has there been any major effort to deal with alcoholism as disease rather than with numerous consequences. The present paper attempts to review physical complications associated with alcoholism. Keywords

The 300 alcoholic patients were administered rotter's locus of control scale, Eysenck personality inventory, beck depression inventory, langer's stress scale and lewishon belief inventory, intervention techniques mainly included chemotherapy (managed by psychiatrist) , individual and group counselling. Results revealed internal locus of control, low level of stress, low scores on depression, positive self belief and low extraversion were good predictors of positive treatment outcome. The stress and negative personal belief have been found to be significant predictors of alcoholism. The treatment pattern found that personality is playing significant role in treatment of alcoholism.- Senior Citizen Care:Issues and Challenges
